What Is Cryoskin?

Cryoskin has been transported from Paris, the beauty capital of the world, and is only the second of its kind in the U.S. to use body contouring cold technology. Cryoskin uses a 3-phase thermal shock to destroy unwanted fat cells, eliminate cellulite and improve collagen production. This revolutionary, non-invasive device produces superior results at a fraction the cost of traditional fat freezing modalities.

Cryoskin works with your body’s natural systems to produce slimming and toning effects. The non-invasive sessions result in slimmer, toned bodies and the elimination of fine lines and wrinkles. Cryoskin sessions are offered via three options: CryoSlimming, Body CryoToning, and Facial CryoToning.

CryoSlimming

CryoSlimming uses thermoelectric cooling to perform cryolipolysis (freezing of the fat) which causes cell death of subcutaneous fat tissue without damage to the overlying skin. It is safe, painless and a non-surgical alternative to liposuction. Similar to other “fat freezing” treatments, Cryoskin is cheaper, painless and more effective!

The 30-40 minute treatment begins with a couple minutes of heat then rapidly cooled to sub-zero temperatures evenly across the treated areas. The destroyed cells then pass naturally through your body’s lymphatic system.

Cryoskin F.A.Q.

How does it work?

The machine itself functions by a Peltier effect (thermoelectric cooling) regulated by a hydraulic system which ensures a very high inertia which is absolutely necessary for the correct application of the treatment in a minimum of time. These characteristics, which are very difficult to obtain, make it possible to enact a very rapid cooling of the fat tissues while avoiding the risk of lesions of the skin tissue due to an application that is too long. The principle of the treatment is to lower the temperature of the fat cells enough to cause what is called the phenomenon of apoptosis. This phenomenon is triggered when the temperature of the fat tissues is reaches a certain temperature and results in a self-programming of the death of these cells.

How does it feel?

The feeling is rather pleasant thanks to the start of the treatment which is generally done with a short period of skin warming and a gradual but rapid decrease of the temperature. At the end of the treatment, the thermal shock appears very quickly, which gives a feeling of warmth and lightness at the same time.

What are there any side effects?

There are few. Sometimes localized redness that disappears after a few hours. Sometimes some localized soreness that rarely exceeds 2 to 3 hours. There may also be some itching without consequences and often due to the reactions of certain cosmetic products used by clients. Hence we ask that you not use anything (i.e. makeup, strong lotions) before coming to do the treatment because some products can crystallize to the cold and cause discomfort.

Is Cryoskin FDA cleared or CE certified?

Yes, Cryoskin has been CE certified (European FDA). Cryoskin has not yet been FDA cleared but it is in the works.

How long is each treatment?

One Slimming treatment is between 24 – 36 minutes. One Toning treatment is 20-30 minutes. The amount of time for each session depends upon the treatment area.

How quickly will I see results?

For the Slimming, the first results are generally visible from the first session and often very encouraging. However, it should be noted that the best results appear from 2 to 3 weeks after the start of treatment and extend for several months after the end of treatment. For the Facial, results are visible right away. For the Body Toning, results are generally visible subtly from the first session and are at their best about 3-5 days after.

How many treatments are needed for results?

For the Body Toning & Facial, significant results can be seen in just one treatment. For the Slimming, treatments needed to obtain significant results depend on the individual. Some people may obtain desired results with 1-2 sessions. However, we recommend 3 – 6 treatments over 6 to 12 weeks depending upon body type and lifestyle choices.

How often can I do a treatment?

The usual frequency is 1 treatment every 15 days (for slimming treatments). There is a physiological reason for this: when apoptosis occurs and some fat cells die, waste is formed. This will be eliminated by natural routes (blood, lymphatic system, and then urine). Metabolism must therefore be allowed to evacuate this waste without overloading the circuits. Toning treatments can be performed once every week (7-8 days).

Can you do the Cryoskin Facial if you’ve had Botox or fillers?

You may receive a Cryoskin Facial 2-3 months after these injections. A doctor who works for Allegan (owner of Botox / Fillers) said 1 month should be safe. However, the manufacturer of Cryoskin recommends abstaining from the facial for 3 months after these injections just to be safe.

Can I workout before/ after treatment?

Yes, you can for Toning treatments. However, it is NOT recommended that you do so for Slimming treatments because it will be harder to cool the body down and therefore, get the most effective results.

Do NOT participate in Cryoskin if you have: Raynaud’s syndrome, allergy to cold, Cancer, Kidney or Liver Disease.

Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should NOT participate in any Slimming or Body Toning treatments, but CAN do the Cryoskin Facial.

Persons with open sores, skin conditions, or acne shouldn’t receive Cryoskin treatment in that area until fully healed.

Persons with Diabetes may participate with some modifications. Persons with Severe Diabetes should consult a doctor.
